Turquoise Place – Orange Beach, Alabama

Orange Beach is one of the most overlooked beautiful places in the United States. When you hear “Alabama” the first thing that comes to mind is usually not tropical vacation destinations.

Being overlooked has a great advantage, it falls into the GoCheepNow concept when it comes to affordability on those last minute trips, weekend getaways or family vacations.

Our favorite place to stay among many beautiful locations is “Turquoise Place” located on the shore of Orange Beach.


It is listed as a condo but also rented like a hotel. The property is also loaded with amenities such as restaurants, bars, lazy river, indoor pool, steam, tennis, kids area and much more…  The peak season June, July and August and can reach $350 per night but when you consider you are staying in 2, 3, and 4 bedroom units thats quite a bargain. 

Being on the Gulf Coast, the peak season is not an issue, the weather stays above 80 degrees March, April May and September, October, November. At these time the units go as low as $150 per night.  now thats a bargain! 

Turquoise Place units are spacious three and four bedroom condos with plenty of room for the entire family. …

Specialises in fresh fish and seafood dishes full of wonderful flavours. Oysters, tuna, crab and lobster are all in abundance and there’s also a spectacular selection of sushi on offer. For those less enthralled by fish, the chefs at Big Fish Restaurant and Bar know how to prepare a steak and a mouth-watering burger too. The restaurant’s classic signature dish is the hand trimmed fish of the day, sautéed, grilled, bronzed or fried. This place will not disappoint.
Unlike most restaurants along the coast that asks guests to cover up to eat, swimwear, sundresses and flip flops are all perfectly acceptable here. An open-air restaurant, diners are treated to incredible views of the ocean that are especially beautiful at sunset. Surf and turf lovers will be in their element with Bimini Bob’s array of fish, shrimp, crab, oysters and beef brisket burgers, and children will love watching dolphins play as they tuck into their kids-sized meals. Happy hour lasts nearly all day and local bands regularly perform.
Serves delicious authentic Italian classics and fresh seafood in an incredibly romantic setting. Bring a loved one here and feast on a tasty dinner of toasted ravioli, shrimp and artichoke soup, Tuscan grilled snapper and a Capri side salad. Or keep it simple with a crisp, create your own pizza. For drinks, try the Sicilian iced tea or the pineapple upside down cake martini. All of the dishes here are beautifully displayed and the view across the water is simply spectacular.
Home to both the Upstairs restaurant and the Dockside restaurant. Both are excellent, with Upstairs offering guests the chance to revel in an upscale dining experience as they sample the chef’s latest seasonal creations such as roasted oysters with leek garlic butter, and stuffed flounder with lemon burre blanc. Dockside on the other hand, is a much more casual, family oriented venue, with an excellent Sunday Brunch.
The ideal choice restaurant for those after simple yet delicious dishes cooked to perfection. The menu features tempting dishes such as pork tenderloin with a butternut squash risotto, New York strip steak with cheddar mashed potatoes, pan seared salmon with roasted red potatoes, and lobster mac ‘n’ cheese. Gilbey’s also boasts a fantastic selection of wines, available both by the bottle and the glass, and the bartenders here certainly know how to whip up a good cocktail.
Makes for a chilled out lunch, dinner or drinks spot. The staff here keep the vinyl spinning to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and the cocktails and cold beers flow into the evening. Sit outside and enjoy simple yet wholesome fare such as tuna tartar with avocado, grilled swordfish with raw local tomatoes, a handmade Gulf burger in a brioche bun or a fried grouper sandwich. The type of place that makes people completely lose track of time, The Gulf is the epitome of the holiday vibe beach bar.
Dishes are prepared using a wood burning stove and grill to create amazing combinations of flavours. Try the grilled beef fillet mignon, the beer braised short ribs or the bone in pork chop. Villaggio Grille also has plenty to satisfy seafood lovers, the white truffle honey Gulf coast shrimp and the fried oyster Caesar salad are both absolutely delicious.
