Its True, Last Minute Travel is now our hero, when it comes to saving and receiving the most value for your dollar. Our family and extended family recently spent two weeks in Santa Monica at the Wyndham. There were 22 of us total, we had the entire vacation booked through another service until I stumbled upon  Last Minute Travel  just three weeks before were scheduled to depart.  We canceled our original reservations then simply rebooked our exact trip for everyone and saved a bundle. Are you ready for this, $8,420.00 in savings.  It left so much  money on the table we were able to do so much more than expected.

During our stay the first week we chilled on Santa Monica Beach, Venice was just a five minute bike ride south, the side walk shopping was amazing with food stands to many to mention, we were never hungry.  A hurry up and do nothing attitude overwhelmed the entire process, everyone must experience this at least once in their lives  The beaches were fantastic. Remember Baywatch in the 80s. You are there and can feel it.

We also went north to Malibu Beach, simply breathtaking. The Following week we took a one hour drive that took two hours to San Diego. We didn’t mind, it was a pretty drive. Our goal was to swim with the dolphins.

So much fun, the kids loved it. San Diego is like being in Dallas with mountains and an ocean.  Then Disney…. I used to be a stick in the mud when it came to oversized money pits, but unlike Florida this was quite achievable. By this I mean, you feel like you are not swallowed up by the size. I actually had a great time.

The last few days we just kicked back at the Wyndham, Pier and Beach.

There are many Hotels in the Santa Monica and the Venice Beach area, let’s face it, as beautiful as the beaches are for 90% of us the Pacific Ocean is much colder than we are accustomed to. The locals complain when the temperature rises above 85 degrees. We visited from June 6th 2019 to June 13th, not one  day over 76 degrees. Great weather! Yes! But our brains were in the mindset of swimming, running around half dressed and trying to stay cool. It was 96 in Dallas when we got on the plane.

Have You Smiled Today?

Did You Remember To Smile Today?

A man had just been laid off from work. He was standing on the railing of a high bridge getting ready to jump off, when he happened to look down and see a  man with casts on both arms dancing around  the river banks. .
He thought, “Life isn’t so bad after all,” and got off the railing.
He then walked down to the river bank to thank the  man for saving his life.
“Thank you,” he said. “I was going to jump off that bridge and kill myself, but when I saw your dancing even though you appear to be horribly injured, I changed my mind.”
the man replied … “Dude, I jumped off the same bridge yesterday, my butt just itches and I can’t scratch it!”

Happy Travels!
